Այվազեան Արարատ Ռազմավարագիտական Կեդրոնի տնօրէնն է, եւ հետազոտող Մատենադարանէն ներս: Ան ունի Դոկտորեան վկայականներ պատմութեան (1992) եւ քաղաքական գիտութեան (2004) ոլորտներուն մէջ:[2]
1992 թուականէն 1994 ան աշխատեցաւ իբր օգնական Հայաստանի Նախագահին, խորհրդատու Արտագին Գործոց Նախարարին, եւ Ատենապետը Ներկայացչական Հայաստանի խումբին Եւրոպայի Անվտանգութեան եւ Համագործակցութեան Կազմակերպութեան մէջ (անգլ.՝ Organization on Security and Co-operation in Europe կամ OSCE) Վիեննայի մէջ:
