Թակոր արդիականացուցած է պենկալական արուեստը՝ կարեւորութիւն չտալով դասական կառուցուածքի պահպանմանն ու դիմակայելով լեզուական խիստ քննադատութեան: Անոր [[Վէպ|վէպերը]], [[Պատմուածք|պատմուածքները]], երգերը, պարային թատերախաղերն ու [[Գրափորձ|գրափորձները]] պտտած են քաղաքական եւ անձնական թեմաներու շուրջ: Անոր ամենայայտնի ստեղծագործուիւններն են՝ «[[Գիթանճալի|Գիթանճալին]]», «[[Կորա|Կորան]]», «Տունը եւ աշխարհը», իսկ չափածոյ գործերէն՝ կարճ պատմուածքներն ու վէպերը, որոնք կա՛մ բուռն ընդունելութիւն գտած են, կա՛մ խիստ քննադատութեան ենթարկուած են իրենց քնարականութիւնները, խօսակցական դարձուածքներու, [[Բնականութիւն|բնականութեան]] եւ անբնական ակնարկներու համար:
